RFC is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with our upcoming Open House and Fall Festival Fundraiser on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The day is divided into morning and afternoon shifts, but if you’re available and willing, we’d love to have you for the entire day. Your time and support are greatly appreciated! If you know of any friends or fellow pilots who may be interested in volunteering, please feel free to forward this message to them. For those who can help we would be delighted to invite you to an Appreciation Night held after the Open House (date TBD). Last year was a huge hit.
Volunteer Roles:
Photographer (10:00 AM-4:00 PM |1-2 people)
If you love taking photos this role is for you! No need for a fancy camera (unless you have your own and would be willing to use) your cellphone camera is just fine! You would help us capture the whole day’s events, the more pictures taken the better! We would want to make sure we highlight our dunkees getting dunked, any guest booths and aircraft, and any fun throughout the day!
Set Up Crew (8:00–10:00 AM | 2–4 people)
Help with event setup and equipment set up. Coffee preparations and day of preparations.
Discovery Flight Assistance
Work alongside an RFC instructor, a ramp attendant, and cadets to coordinate flights, confirm payments, and dispatch aircraft for Open House discovery rides.
Signage Display Setup (8:00–10:00 AM) – Requires a truck
Help transport and set up signage around Regina. Detailed instructions will be provided. You’re welcome to sign up for additional tasks as well.
Signage Display Takedown (4:00–6:00 PM) – Requires a truck
Assist with taking down and transporting signage after the event. Full directions will be provided. You may also sign up for other roles if interested.
Traffic Controller (2 volunteers needed)
Ensure attendees stay within designated safe areas and off taxiways.
Parking Attendant / Enforcement
Help direct vehicles to designated parking areas in coordination with cadets.
Simulator Facilitator
Manage and assist guests with the flight simulators, ensuring smooth and organized use.
Tear Down Crew (4:00–6:00 PM | 2–4 people)
Help with event cleanup and equipment takedown. This may take a couple of hours, so extra hands are appreciated!
Fall Festival Game Attendant
As a Fall Festival Game Attendant, you’ll help run a carnival-style game booth, ensuring it’s fun, safe, and engaging for all ages. Responsibilities include explaining game rules, encouraging participants, and resetting the game between turns. Volunteers should be friendly, energetic, and ready to help create a festive atmosphere!
Fall Festival Set up – SEPT 12 (DAY BEFORE)
As part of the Fall Festival Set-Up Crew, you’ll help prepare the event space the day before the festival. Tasks may include setting up tents, tables, chairs, signage, decorations, game booths, and organizing supplies. Volunteers should be comfortable with light lifting, working as a team, and helping create a fun, welcoming environment for the next day’s festivities.
When signing up, please indicate:
- Your preferred role(s)
- Whether you’d like to volunteer for the morning shift, afternoon shift, or all day
Thank you so much for your willingness to support this event. We truly appreciate your time and support. We look forward to seeing you there!
